New Jewelry Creations

Here are a few of my latest creations!

I just created this hematite chip necklace last night with a mother of pearl shell flower pendant. The second necklace features cherry quartz nuggets, sterling silver mirror ball beads and Swarovski crystal bicones. It was a special order for a customer that bought the bracelet and wanted a necklace to match.

My mom has a bracelet that I made with funky black and white striped furnace glass. She wanted a necklace to match, so I gave this to her for Mother's Day. The pendant is Swarovski crystal with a sterling silver bail. Mom wears a lot of black so this necklace will go with lots of outfits. I wish I had one too!

Here are a few pair of earrings. The unakite earrings are earthy in autumn colors. I sold these at my etsy shop pretty quick. The second pair features harmony jasper or peace jade with Swarovski crystal. Finally there are some pink and green dotted earrings with lampwork beads and a green and white dotted version. Fun for spring or summer! Saving the best for last is my latest creation with one of my favorite stones, rhyolite accented with olive Swarovski crystal!

Nunnlea Craft Show

Susanne and I set up at the Nunnlea House show this weekend. The show was Friday and Saturday and they served a great lunch both days. The ladies of the Beautification League run this show and they were so nice to work with. There was a steady crowd both days and everyone was pleased with the turnout. We had a good variety of vendors too. My mom came by on Friday and helped me work the show. It was fun to have her join me!

I learn something new with each show. What seemed important this weekend was the type of earwires on the earrings. I mostly use sterling silver shepard's hooks but someone wanted posts, so I changed them out for her quickly. I had a nice pair of specialty earrings that I put on lever backs. The lady that bought them had trouble with lever backs and wanted them on shepard's hooks. I changed those out as well. By day 2 of the show, I had every kind of wire available for anyone who asked. I even brought clips. I may make up a sign that earwires can be changed upon request.

I did get an inquiry about some custom earrings and taking some sentimental clip earrings from deceased parent and reworking it into something more modern. I hope she contacts me as it sounds like a fun project.

Here is a very cool purse I purchased at the show from the vendor next to us. The colors are great for fall and went well with the sweater I was wearing. I put it on my shoulder and was encouraged by everyone to purchase it! There was only one like it, so I bought it. I would post the creator's name, but she stopped making these due to time constraints and it was her mom that was selling them at the show. The beads and cool fibers at the top of the purse are a total cat magnet. I know this from experience!

Team Bluegrass Treasury & Holiday Earrings

I just joined a new etsy street team called B.E.S.T (Bluegrass etsy street team). This team features the work of artists throughout Kentucky. Our work was featured in a treasury today. My fleur de lis earrings are featured on the third row. How cool! To see artwork from Ky artisans, go to www.etsy.com and enter "teambluegrass" as your search term for tags.

I've had a productive morning and have posted four new items in my esty shop. I know it's early to be thinking about Christmas, but I have signed up for three holiday shows and I am making them now so I'll be ready! Visit my shop at www.creativeeyestudio.etsy.com.

Blue Lampwork Earrings

Just created these clip on earrings for my mom, who refuses to pierce her ears! I was not thrilled with the first set of sterling clips I bought as they were too flimsy. I bought these because they were made well, but am not wild about how big the flat silver area is at the top. My mom says they are comfortable and that's all that matters, right? She has a matching bracelet with the same blue lampwork beads and sapphire crystals.

Peace Jade & Swarovski Crystal Bracelet

Aaah, peace jade, also known as harmony jasper. I love the green stone with flecks of white and lavender. Along with the harmony jasper, I included light Amethyst round Swarovski crystal and bali silver spacers. The bracelet is finished with a sterling flower toggle. After spending a great deal of time in my studio, I noticed everything I made that night had a theme of green and purple! I really like combining those two colors.
